The women who made their own career path
Hillary Peterson - True Botanicals Founder and CEO
Stories that start badly are often stories that have a happy ending.
This is definitely the case for Hillary Peterson. It took something very traumatic - a cancer diagnosis - to change the course of her life and career for the better.
Following her shocking diagnosis of thyroid cancer, Hillary began to educate herself about the ingredients in the beauty and skincare products that we buy on the high street every day. She learned about the toxic affects that the chemicals we put on our bodies have on both the body, and the planet. She came to the conclusion that she would not put things like this IN her body - so why would she want to put them ON her body?
Hillary wanted to give women a way out of this, and to give them the results they want and need, but more natural and pure ingredients.
She is passionate about using information to empower people in making the best possible choice for their individual needs.
Before starting her business, Peterson had a great career in the fashion world. She was the senior advertising manager for the 501 jeans brand. Before this, she worked as marketing manager for the Levi’s brand.
She won the Elle magazine Genius Award and her products can be found at many of the world’s top spas.
