Here’s some perspective.
Firstly, I want to point you towards our Inspiring Stories blog posts that we have been posting every Wednesday for over three years, telling the unglamorous stories of how the biggest brands and biggest names in business started up. You will notice that each person learned A TON from each failure, and used it as a chance to revise their approach, fine-tune it, and make it bigger and better. Also, the processes of the most successful people were very. Very. Slow. But that slowness created incredible longevity and allowed them to grow very deep roots, rather than crashing and burning.
If you are very successful in a very short space of time, it feels intoxicatingly amazing. But over time, cracks start to show. But if you are a slower burner, you notice the cracks sooner and are able to fix them before they get dangerous.
If your dream is a bit of a slow burn at the moment, please take heart, and do not get discouraged. Because you can only see the past and the present, a sense of failure can be a bit like an optical illusion.
But the unknown future is nothing but a blank canvas for you to go crazy with!
By learning from your mistakes and pushing past failure, which, at the time, seems crushing, you are taking ownership of that future, and refusing to let discouragement sabotage it. You might feel a bit winded for a while, and that’s ok. But as soon as you can, get back up, start building again, and see what happens!
