Introducing Ewan the Dream Sheep
Lynda Harding, while on maternity leave after having her sixth child, Bradley, struggled with getting him to sleep at night. ‘He cried constantly and it was a nightly struggle to get him to sleep’. After trying everything she knew to try and calm him down, Lynda discovered an unusual method: dimming the lights, switching on the hoover, and rocking him when in the cot. She looked around to find a product that could do all these things at once, but found nothing like what she hoped to find. This gave her the idea to create a product herself!
She started to research as much as she could, gaining input and knowledge from sleep experts, universities, medical experts, the childcare industry, as well as through surveying ordinary mums like herself. After a long time, seven years, she launched Ewan the Dream Sheep!
Ewan is a plush sheep toy that can be hung on the side of a cot. The device contains real recordings that are not computerised. These recordings include heartbeats, vacuum cleaners, and rain fall, and are at a unique low frequency that is heard by babies when in the womb. Expert research has proven that mimicking the experience of being in the womb is highly effective in reducing colic pain, inducing good quality sleep, and reducing crying.
The product has had amazing reviews from customers:
‘Thank you! Don’t know if I could survive without Ewan the Dream Sheep’
- Lily Allen - Singer
‘Huge thankyou for fab Ewan the Dream Sheep. My son loves it. We have hung it on his Moses basket’.
-Konnie Huq - TV presenter
