Sometimes, when we are tired and swamped with life and activities and things that need to get done, things can look more scary and sinister than they actually are. This means that we can get stressed out when the tiniest things go wrong, and we can feel more out of control than we actually are, which then leads to panic, which then leads to chaos. And nobody wants that. When this starts to become the way you see things, that’s probably a sign that you need to step aside, and start being more gentle with yourself. Journalling is great for this. Because your audience is just YOU, you can write whatever the heck you want, with absolutely zero filters. A brain dump is where you scribble everything down onto the page, completely raw and unedited, in no particular order. Just get it all out. When it’s all out, it’s easier to make sense of. When you keep your thoughts and worries pent up inside you, they are harder to control.
When you have finished your brain dump, and read it through, things may start to make a bit more sense, and will seem to be less scary and overwhelming than you had thought. |
