Coffee entrepreneurs stir things up from flat whites and cappuccinos the next stop millionaires mile. Yesterday we shared a great article about “Community Focus” which had considerable, traction via Instagram, today we look at a local startup business who have a great heart for the Manchester community.
Founders Luke Tomlinson and Pete Gibson began in 2013 with an idea, and a Kickstarter campaign that helped fund their first site, a 5 x 3m wooden pod on Greengate Square. Soon after, their coffee trike appeared – a portable brewbar. This was swiftly followed by a Hub on Deansgate, which blends perfectly a larger working/meeting space and a coffee shop, as well as being their first site to offer something a little stronger into the evenings.
Grindsmith’s latest site is Media City, where we have created a site that expands on our love of community, to build on our ethos and to bring our great coffee to Salford. Our MediaCityUK site has taken us to the next level, with a full kitchen offering breakfast, brunch and lunch, and a full cocktail, beer and wine menu, as well as our great coffee. We've built something that is the reality of our original vision.
And they are most definitely not done yet.
Exceptional crafted coffee - What Grindsmith Think
We believe the coffee experience is our responsibility from seed to cup. Coffee is our craft, our ritual, our passion. It drives us and inspires us. Grindsmith aims to serve you the best coffee in Manchester. We believe in taste, sourcing the best beans in the city and using them to craft great tasting coffee.
Our belief in flavour doesn’t just extend to our coffees, but to all the food and drink available in our shops. We shop local where we can so you can be certain that your experience with us, whether you drink in, or takeaway, is the best that it can be.
Our coffee bars you can expect to find this remarkable coffee in all of its forms: whole bean, various approaches to brewed, and carefully prepared espresso. Our goal is that each of these is presented in an environment steeped in education and humility. We want great coffee to be revered, yet democratic, approachable and accessible. By illuminating what is possible with coffee, we hope to change forever how you think about it.
We are Grindsmith, made in Manchester.
Be sure to visit Grindsmith over this festive season, whether you're in Manchester for Christmas shopping, business or looking for exceptional crafted coffee.
