L’Oreal is the world’s biggest beauty and cosmetics company, and most of us have probably come into contact with some of their products, from shampoos and hair dye to makeup and skincare.

The company is over 100 years old, and was founded in 1909 in France by Eugene Schueller, a young, ambitious, and highly innovative chemist. The company began when he sold his first hair dye to local Parisian hairdressers. His experimental and boundary-pushing approach set the bar for L’Oreal’s core philosophy: research and innovation in the service of beauty.
